Scoring second place in 2010, STRABAG Property and Facility Services secured its position among the “big five” as in previous years, and confirmed its top placement among the leading real estate providers in Germany. Year on year, the company improved by one rank, being the runner up behind the leader Bilfinger Berger Facility Service and matching the result of the 2009 survey while clearly outperforming Deutsche Bahn Services GmbH (DB Services) in third place, which placed for the first time in the ranking due to the novel inclusion of captive* service providers in the survey.
Once a year Lünendonk GmbH establishes a ranking of Germany’s leading service providers on the basis of domestic sales. Analysts noted in conjunction with this year’s survey that the ramifications of the financial market and economic crisis continue to be felt on the facility management market. While the 25 leading companies for infrastructural and technical facility management did increase their turnover by around 5 percent in the concluded 2010 financial year, the performance obviously fell short of the record hikes of 10.9 percent and 12.5 percent in 2007 and 2008, respectively.
The focal subjects addressed during the press conference included, for instance, sustainability and the recruitment of specialist staff.
The comprehensive 2011 Lünendonk survey covered 80 facility management service providers. It will be published in July 2011.
