Digitalization remains a key topic - but many are slowing themselves down

How well positioned is the real estate industry when it comes to digital transformation? This question is addressed in the latest, second edition of the industry study "Transform to Succeed" by Drees & Sommer, which has now been published - with fresh data, new findings and an expert interview with the Chairwoman of the STRABAG PFS Group, Dr. Marion Henschel.
In the interview, we made it clear that digitalization is not something that can be ordered top down in the sense of "go for it". That would leave employees in the lurch. Digitalization must also develop from within the organization. The company needs promoters who drive topics and projects forward, who know and understand the operational business, who can also listen and explain the "why".
And also that a culture of failure is part of a company's digital skills, as you will sometimes fail on the path to digital transformation and have to put up with it - not in the big picture, but in small development projects or products that have been thoroughly planned, but which can sometimes flop. This always happens if you have not agreed on common goals in advance, digitalization does not bring any improvements or because nobody needs the product... it's all part of the process and we shouldn't shy away from it.
Above all, however, we were able to make it clear that a digitalization strategy with clear goals is always the starting point - otherwise it's easy to get lost in the digitalization jungle.
The publisher of the study was also impressed by the fact that we now work with AI videos to impart knowledge and how ingenious this is with more than 100 nationalities in the company. Click here for the study (available only in German)
