The latest Lünendonk® study on the Austrian facility services market in 2025 has been published and confirms the growth of STRABAG Property and Facility Services. Particularly pleasing: STRABAG PFS Austria ranks in the top ten, making it one of the leading providers in the market.
Market development and industry trends
According to the study, the Austrian market for facility services continues to grow. An increase in turnover of 9.5% is forecast for the industry in 2024, with Lünendonk® predicting further growth of 9.3% in 2025. Technical service providers are recording above-average growth of +10.5% compared to infrastructure providers (+8.4%). The study also shows that integrated services, digitalisation and automation are becoming increasingly important. At the same time, attracting and retaining qualified personnel remains a key challenge for the industry.
Strategic development of STRABAG Property and Facility Services
The results of the study reflect the strategic orientation of STRABAG PFS as an integrated building solutions provider. Facility management and technical building equipment services are closely interlinked at STRABAG PFS.
The group is therefore continuing to expand its technical expertise in Austria – including through targeted acquisitions and takeovers, for example through companies such as Lohr Gebäudetechnik and Triburuzek Mück Haustechnik. At the beginning of October, the group also acquired the Austrian Kagerer Group, which specialises in electrical engineering, IT infrastructure solutions, photovoltaic systems and technical maintenance and servicing. By integrating its building services engineering expertise, the company can take a holistic view of buildings and offer solutions from a single source: from planning and modernisation to ongoing operation. Customers benefit from short decision-making processes and efficient, integrated solutions.
STRABAG PFS is responding to the growing demand for digital and efficiency-enhancing services by consistently digitising processes and data via its own Digital Service Platform (DSP). It digitally maps all operational processes in facility management and property management: from offer preparation and order processing to digital performance feedback, documentation and invoice preparation. The cloud-based DSP supports costumers to access consumption data, maintenance schedules, asset overviews and documents in real time. STRABAG PFS thus supports them in ensuring data quality and transparency for their properties as well as in non-financial reporting.
