Data centers are the backbone of digitalization. However, the right building operation determines energy efficiency, security and sustainability. The latest Lünendonk® White Paper 2025 shows that professional facility management is the key to resilient and future-proof digital infrastructures.

Whether cloud platforms, artificial intelligence or automated processes. The digital economy cannot function without data centers. But the requirements are increasing: With growing energy requirements, strict regulation and complex security requirements, facility management is becoming a strategic success factor.
STRABAG Property and Facility Services (STRABAG PFS) combines technical expertise with an integrated lifecycle approach, from the planning and construction to the operation and modernization of data centers. Today, we already look after around 500,000 m² of data center space in facility management.
A practical example shows what is possible: In an existing data center, we were able to reduce the PUE value from 1.58 to 1.43, cut electricity consumption by more than 20 million kilowatt hours and save over 16,000 tons of CO₂. And all of this during ongoing operations without IT outages.
The conclusion is clear: without professional facility management, there can be no energy-efficient and secure digitalization. STRABAG PFS is the strategic partner for operators who want to make their digital infrastructures resilient and sustainable.
